I still think your problem is the alt.

The 2.6 uses battery power to run the fuel pump for starting. Once started, it switches (via the relay) over to the alternator.

The classic symptom is for it to start and run for a about 5 seconds and then die. Keeping it running with the key in start tells you the FP is working. It must be something else.

You probably are right. I just read a post on planetisuzoo and that is what one guy said that the #1 pin on the alt. sends voltage to the fuelpump and injectors. After all it is the original alternator.Thanks for the advice.
