Getting the Wheeling Fever
I was browsing under the hood the other day checking fluids and I noticed the power steering fluid reservoir cap stated "POWER STEERING FLUID ONLY".

However, the manuals I have say to use DexIIE or DexIII for the power steering.

Which is it?

It'll be the dexron. I bet the cap actually says something like "use only approved power steering fluid".

Body Damage is Cool
IF IT SAYS POWER STR FLUID ,THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSSED TO USE , IF IT SAYS AUTOMATIC TRANS FLUID THEN THAT IS IT, THE DIFF, IS IN THE SEAL MAKE UP OF THE STEERING BOX, THE WRONG FLUID AND IT WILL START TO LEAK , SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE THERMAL ADDITIVE IN THE PWR STR FLUID THAT THE DEXRON, DOESN,T HAVE , ODDLY THE HONDA PWR STR FLUID AND THE ISUZU FLUID ARE COMPLETEY INTERCHANGABLE, CERTAIN YEARS SINCE 88 SOME ISUZU,S HAD ONE FLUID AND SOME HAD THE OTHER THAT IS WHY IT IS PRINTED ON THE CAP AS TO THE DIFFERENCE JERRY

The cap states "POWER STEERING FLUID ONLY".

I opened it up, stuck my finger in there, and it came out a rust brown clear color. My first thought was really burned ATF. But after smelling the stuff and getting another sample on a white rag, the stuff is power steering fluid. Although, it is a long way from clear. I might should drain out the old and fill with new.

Any harm if I leave that fluid in there? In my previous vehicles, I have never taken a look at my used PS fluid. Ijust always thought it magically stayed clear <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
