Sunbrella might be a much more durable compromise...

Ratlabguy,

I've been toying with the idea of doing it in Sunbrella for a while.
Thanks

Looks like the original builder of these tops will be doing a limited final run of these tops. Get yours before they're gone, "like yesterday is gone!"

PM me to get the contact info so you can call him with your order.

BTW, the top alone will be about $800 (well worth it, IMO) and the bikini & boot are about $200 more, total. I don't think he's figuring shipping in that price.

Was going to edit my previous post to emphasize that this is likely to be the final run of these soft tops. However, the edit time had expired. So just in case you missed it: Now's the time...

Those of you who have sent me PM's for the manufacturer contact info, please send me a PM whether you've actually talked to the guy. You may have to ask his secretary to speak to him directly. You'll need to talk to him (maybe more than once), so he knows you're serious about buying the top. He knows I'm serious, 'cause I've called him 3-4 times.

Conversely, I've posted in several forums, and he currently only has inventory to build 10 tops. Once that's spoken for, he might not produce any more.

Again, please PM me whether you've talked to him or not.

Body Damage is Cool
It looks like Can-Back is up and running again. As of last month they were taking orders for 4runner tops for delivery in March '07. I really like the looks of that top, the roll-up sides, the frame and the ability to mount load bars and baskets on top. Of course I'm too miserly to buy one, but I've got an upholsterer in the family and a do-it-yourself streak a mile wide -- Matt
