This morning I was heading out to do a little fishin before I had to go to work and when I left the house everything was normal. I stopped and got some gas and when I restarted the trooper my radio didn't come on. I didn't have a wire hooked up too good so I just figured it came loose. I met my buddy at a grocery store so he could follow me there and when I turned the key to the on position I herd a fuse blow. I got out and it was the one that makes the thing run. So I put a new one in there and didn't think nothing of it and as soon as I turned the key it did it again. I checked all the wiring I could and didn't see any broken wires or any touching. Well after I went through 2 more fuses I ran out so I just rode with him. Went back later and bought a new box of fuses and put one in there and it started and ran for about 3 seconds then blew. I bummed a ride home to get ready for work because I ran out of time to work on it. Anyone have any ideas what could make it start blowing fuses like that?

which fuse was it? you would have to trace the wiring to and from that devise. also make sure the devise is secure(bolted down tight, or not wiggling). some devises could be grounded by there mounting bolts.

Its the fuse marked regulator that keeps blowing. About the only thing I can think that would cause the problem would be the accel coil I put on it. But its been on there for about 3 weeks now and I haven't had the first problem out of it. I took it out and put the old one back in after work then tried again. It blew a fuse when I turned the key the first time. Then I put in another one and it started and ran for less than 2 seconds then blew again. I tried one more fuse and it started and ran and it got me home. I don't really know what all runs off the regulator fuse so if anyone knows that would really help.

#1 get a manual and look at the wiring diagram.
You can either keep putting fuses in there, which seems to be less than effective, or you can start tracing wires to see where the short is. It is not spontaneously going to fix itself.
I doubt there is anything on that circuit that is drawing enough amps to blow the fuse. There is a wire somewhere that has shorted to ground, or something on the ciruit has failed in such a way that it is shorted out. Wiring problems suck, but the best thing you can do is to start physically looking for the problem
