I am about to replace timing belt, tensioner and water pump and wanted some options on if it matters where I get the parts.

For about $130 bucks you can get all the parts you need from www.stcharlesauto.com and they are Japan made OEM parts. I have never seen the store brand parts for this application, so I can't comment on the differences but that seems cheap for parts that you KNOW will work correctly for your application without the fear of mistakes being made.

Scott, I have a timing belt for a DOHC 3.2L, not certain if that is the same you need or not...

Jerry Lemond is THE MAN when it comes to 'zu parts/knowledge. I would look no further. Here is his email <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I would have to second the St. Charles Auto. I have purchased several parts through Merlin there and have always received great service and good prices. Just to demonstrate, I priced a part at the local Isuzu dealer $279.00, Merlin @ St. Charles, $192.00. Exact same new OEM part. On any repair/maintenance parts I use the 2 hour rule. If it takes 2 hours or less to replace I will try a local discount parts outlet. Anything over that gets new,OEM parts. Just my experience, but I have never had to return a new,OEM part because it was defective but I have returned several replacement parts from discount chains. JMO.
