a buddy of mine has a 03 rubicon and he is in the process of getting a 6" suspension lift and 35 inch tires. He was arguing with me that with stock gearing it wouldn't be to doggy, and i disagreed and said he would need to go 4.88 or probably 5.29's, since it is his daily driver i would doubt he would want a huge decrease in power. what do you guys think

I have a 99 with the 4 banger -6" lift and 35's and I never see 5th...I use 4th in town some but 1st through 3rd I am good...he will be fine with the stock gears if he doesnt mind loosing 3rd...if he does then all he needs are 4.88 or 4.56's.

Can you get 5.29's for that axle housing?

With 35inchers he will want to turn a few MORE rpm at any given speed than whatever came from the factory.. If it came with 30's and a 4:11 yes it will be doggy.
