I have a 98 gmc jimmy with a 4.3 & automatic transmission. This vehicle has a problem with the electrical system. The problem has to do with the transmission, the dash gauges, the key switch, and the trasmission shifter lever. When this vehicle acts up the check eng light comes on. the lights on the dash go out and the fuel gauge drops to empty. The transmission is slugish. The key will not come out of the ignition switch when shutoff. When the key is on the eng. is off if you push the button on the trans. shifter the lights come on and the fuel gauge starts to work. When you start the vehicle, messing with the shifter button dose'nt do anything . CODES : PO 740 TORQUE CON. CLUTCH CIRCIT FAILURE , PO 753 SHIFT SOL. 1 ELECTRICAL, PO758 SHIFT SOL. 2 ELECTRICAL, PO 1860 TORQUE CON. CLUTCH PWM SOL. CIRCUIT. PO1870 TRAN. COMPONENT SLIPPING. I am thinking this is a ground problem if some one has seen this before and knows anything about this i would sure like to know how to fix it. thank you.

I'll get a schematis off the computer tomorrow or the day after and see if I can find a common ground or something of that nature for you.

Good. I looked up the grounds common to your problems, but they were pretty diverse. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.
