I installed the Black Magic Flex-a-lite fan ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/bannedwagon/trucks/3VZE%20V6/th_IMG_8456.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/bannedwagon/trucks/3VZE%20V6/th_IMG_8455.jpg) I also removed the center pully and chopped down the fan bracket ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/bannedwagon/trucks/3VZE%20V6/th_IMG_8454.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/bannedwagon/trucks/3VZE%20V6/th_IMG_8453.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/bannedwagon/trucks/3VZE%20V6/th_IMG_8452.jpg) I love how the truck sounds now so much quiter and stronger sounding. the power gain was vary noticeble since my old fan clutch was stuck on, its been a wile sice i drove it without the fan locked on the hole time. i did this mod after many monthe of reading this forum. So thanks everyone <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />

Nice !!! One word of warning, I hope you put a switch in the cab so you can shut it off when or if you do water crossings. The blades break real easy if they tangle with water. Those fans work great!!!

They are great fans, well worth the extra money and ease of instalation(compared to other electrics). As mentioned if you ever wheel where you might cross some water, you need to install a switch, I have a ground interupt on mine. Also being able to turn the fan off is helpful when scanning codes.

They are electric and sometimes fail! Everything is a trade-off. I'd like to try one my daily driver to see how much improved gas mileage they produce. Gnarls.

I never noticed any fuel gains but the power and noise seems a bit better then before. Had it now for at least 5 years and never a failure. It was my daily driver until 2 years ago. I installed 2 switches, 1 for on, 1 for off. It seems that in the real hot summer, the AC works much better when the condensor gets some cool air right away. I also installed a LED so I know when the fan runs and when it's switched off.

I really haven't noticed much of an increase in mpg either, though my mpg is nearly the same now 16yrs later as when it was new, even though it has a higher drag coeficient and weighs over 1k lbs more.
To avoid the failure of most electric fans, i.e., the thermostat, I have mine wired to the ignition, so it runs all of the time. The dealer commented that it might prevent the truck from reaching its proper temp, though the gauge sits at the same point as with the belt driven fan.

Thanks for sharing you experience putting in the electric fan. Loos nice! Been thinking about doing this myself for a while. You said you had to cut the fan mount a bit. Was it pretty easy or was there alot of fitting involved to get the clearances right?

What temp switch did you use?
Did you mount the fan through the radatior?
I have a pusher fan mounted through the radatior with a temp sensor that mounts behind the radatior.........
On mine it looks like the radatior is going to "mess" up the radatior the way it mounts to it. An I'm not to impressed with the temp sensor, I'd like to get one that goes into the water............
I need a Thneed

Thanks for explaining the details. Sound like the black magic fan is the easiest and most straight forward install an electric fan. When the time comes I'm gonna get one too.
