Getting the Wheeling Fever
I got home from school yesterday and a kid I had with me said, "Pop your hood, there's steam coming out from under it and I smell coolant." I popped the hood and there was steam coming from the back of the engine. I let it cool down, filled up the coolant in the reservoir and the radiator. I drove it later and when I came home the same steam was coming from the same spot.

It's hard to see back there, but does anyone have any ideas what this could be? I really love this little vehicle and I hate to see it go, but if it has a cracked block or head I don't think I can afford to fix it.

Check your heater connections and and plumbing that runs behind the engine.

Yeah probably the heater stuff.

Either that or some of the water lines on the heads.

Your engine is probably fine once you fix the leaky hoses or whatever.

I haven't been able to find any leaky hoses, but there doesn't seem to be any water in the oil, so I'm hopeful that there's no major problem.

My main problem right now is that I can't get into a position to see anything behind the motor.

I took it to my mechanic. They replaced the hoses, but when they were finished it wouldn't start. I drove it there, so it started before.

They replaced the CPS, and coil pack. The engine relay was making noise, so they replaced it. They tell me it has fuel but no spark. Is there anything else they should check?

Maybe in replacing the hoses they've bumped a wire connection for the ignition system??? Seems odd it would die otherwise. With the original problem of steam escaping, you probably won't verify it was the hoses till the engine starts, eh? I'd leave it to the experts now, if it ran going in, they can make it run coming out!!!

Agreed that it is electrical...

Faulty engine earth or chassis earth??? Corrosion is the usual culprit, looks "fine" but internally corroded terminals.
