(I'm having a rough time uploading pics, so sorry, no visual stimuli for now.)

The '90 troop has been literally or figuratively on jackstands since October, and I just don't have the time to invest in it any longer.

We looked at a lot of vehicles to replace it, and after a brief foray into the land of Volvo wagons, I brought our buying attention squarely back to the land of Zu.

On Saturday we picked up a 2002 Trooper S. With a slight lift thanks to OME springs, 285cm Revo's, rocker bars to help the short GF climb aboard, and only 34k on the clock, I couldn't be happier. Thanks to Charles in DC for offering a smoking deal.

What, you might ask, is my favorite feature of the new truck? Without a doubt, my favorite feature of my new truck is the scratches that Charles already put on it. Now I don't have to feel bad and/or take heat when I put scratches on it .

So now the questions begs: what to do with the old trooper? It's a 90 2.8. It's got about 200k on the odomometer. The motor is pretty well shot and it isn't running. Starter has been pulled and is not installed. All signs point to a good tranny. Paint is peeling a bit, but the body is in good shape. NO rust due to a west coast life and a liberal coating of used engine oil on the undercarriage. Tires are 99% gone.

This thing is begging for a 3.4 upgrade from someone. I guess I'll post it on Craigs List and see if anyone is interested.

*****Sorry, didn't mean this to be a for sale post, looking for advice on what to do with it, not buyers.*****

So what thinks the collective? Should I bother trying to sell it? How much is a motorless trooper going to be worth? Or should I just donate it and take the tax deduction?

I really don't have time to mess with it much. I've got a house and a new truck and both are in need of mods.

Dearly departed after 13 years in the family. Donated to WAMU Radio in DC.

Congrats on the new purchase.

If you don't have much time to deal with it, donate it. You can get the write-off as if it were running, plus they will usually just come and pick it up.

If you do sell it, you will have to deal with arranging pick-up and/or drop-off...not to mention possibling haggling with potential buyers, or those that are flakes.

If it has a bad engine, it will be much harder to get rid of, let alone picked-up.

donate it and begin to enjoy the new Troop.
