After I got it cleaned, I noticed that the gouges extend past the top of the cover. What do you all think? More business for EB? (haven't had luck finding yota parts at the local boneyards) or reuse? ![[Linked Image]](http://www.duke.edu/~spo/temp/cover2.jpg)

How in the world did you manage to keep from wrapping the timing chain around the cam gear Lucky or stupid I guess! Since it hadn't cut through to mix oil with coolant, I was thinking to reuse it, but when I cleaned it up and saw that it buggered up the top too, wasn't sure any more.

I don't think those covers are too expensive. I would always just err on the side of replacement. In my opinion once the chain starts eating your cover its just too compromised to reuse. Better to be safe than sorry down the road.

Toss it in with your beer can pile. EB's are about as cheap as you can find. Friend of mine didn't catch the crack on the top of his TC this winter, and came snoopin' around for one off me-- he got quoted $120.
