Need a Spot
Anybody own one of these in the rear that holds the spare tire? I have one of the tube style and the tire carrier rattles. The latching mechanism sucks in my opinion. Does anybody else have this problem, and if so have you found a solution to it?

Last night I grinded off the latch mechanism and made my own with a T bolt that screws into a bolt. This works better but there is still a slight rattle on the road around town. On a wash board road its enough to drive me up the wall. I'm about ready to rip it off and buy a Warn bumper because the guys I've talked to said they don't have any rattling noises.

Any imput would be appreciated.

Thanks

I managed to fix this and make it not rattle. This is what I did:

I cut off the existing latch and welded on a bolt with a T handle. It still rattled so I had to screw in a piece of rubber that got compressed up against a stop. If someone would like more info on this let me know. I'll be happy to help you fix yours if need be.

Surely you can take an old inner tube or a floor mat and some sillycone and get the rattle to STOP!
