Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have tried to get the PCV valve out on my truck and it is turning out to be a PITA. That thing is in there good and there is not much room under the intake manifold to pry it out. I pried a little by getting a screwdriver under the rubber grommet but I just broke the lip off the grommet. I decided to walk away and take a minute before I get that thing stuck in there and have to start pulling the intake off. Anybody have any experience/knoledge to help me out a little?

oh, that sucker is tough to get out. I once did it by removing the exhaust pipe that goes to the EGR vavle to get some room. Removed some of the vaccum lines too. I used a combination of things, from long screwdrivers to pry it out, and lock pliers to get a grip and pry it out. Its tough. I dont know if like WD-40 would help (just thought of that). It's pretty tough, but can be doable. Just dont break the whole groment that you have to remove the valve cover to take the pieces out!!! If you can't....then the top intake must come off. Not that hard though. Good luck!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Roll Me Over
I would use silicone spray instead of WD-40. They are a real bummer to get out and it sounds like to me if the grommet is that brittle it to should be replaced.

I tried everything in all my tool boxes and could not get it out. I ended up pulling the plenum and then relocated the PCV with elbows and hose to a spot I can get to if I ever need. [Linked Image]
