I want an LSD to keep it street worthy since it's my daily driver. I plan on having LSDs F/R. I don't off-road like I use to since I'm preoccupied with college. (Yay for me! )
It sounded like Calapoyas wanted the locker, too.

KYAARR, The Cap'm
What a minute - you bought a Land Rover? What'd ya get? What'd ya get? Discovery? Defender? Does it get better mileage than the Sportage?

An LSD in the front might make steering a bit tougher. It would tend to make the front wheels rotate at the same speed and try to straighten out your turn.

just weld it and be done with it.
steering a locked vehicle will be more difficult, but steering and LSD-equipped vehicle won't. both WOULD be more difficult with a straight front axle, especially locked, but with IFS and 6-ball CV's, it is unlikely that you'll create enough bind to make it difficult to turn the steering wheel, although, with a locked IFS front, you will still get the wheels, even though turned, pulling you almost straight forward.
just makes you change your driving habits a little. you'll begin to accept a little sideways sliding in order to make a turn, you'll begin to use the turned wheel/forward motion to your advantage for added traction. you begin to worry less about finding exactly the right spot for your tires.
95 Sportage w/welded and 5.89 geared dana 44's on 38.5" TSL's.- SADLY SOLD CURRENTLY - 2000 sportage, 5.38 gears, welded diffs, 35" tires, 5.5" lift http://www.cardomain.com/ride/341410

Own a Freelander SE3. has a removable hard back, targa top, and it's fast! well faster than the Sportie. same gas mileage though.
