its either my starter or my nuetral safety switch. i push the clutch in and it trys to start(like it turns over once or twice and stops), or it clicks. then i try it again and fires up.
now the real problem it doesn't do it all the time, so i can't diagnos it

Give this a read; also make sure your battery cables are clean and have good connectivity. We also have an FSM sticky'd here if you need schematics.

Sounds like a bad starter. It will be intermittent and if you cant get it to turn over try hitting the starter with a bfh (gently) and it should start. In the meantime replace the contacts.

Is it a manual? That samish thing happened to me about a month ago but then I noticed that the clutch switch was going out on the floor and the clutch start cancel solved that. Might have nothing to do with it though...

Make sure the plunger for the clutch switch is properly adjusted, and that your clutch bracket isn't cracked, esp if it makes noise when you work the pedal.
