I I'm plagued by a leak from the top of my '94 MUA 5spd(s). The first one blew oil pretty bad when driven at HWY speeds for at least 3 years (how long I've had it, I discovered the tranny had no oil in it after I bought it), then that unit went bad and I replaced it with a clean '92 MUA unit. 2 days after running it, I noticed oil dripping. Pulled the cover from over the shifter, and determined that it is indeed coming from the top of the tranny, but not from the shifters. Looks like maybe the linkage extension housing.
Thoughts? Is there a common leaking culprit that I am not aware of?

Shot in the dark <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> .....is the breather stopped up?Maybe building preesure inside that is letting it leak out from the top?

Mine used to force oil fromt the t-case into the tranny until it overflowed at highway speeds. I would have to check the levels every few weeks. I installed new breathers but that didn't help. Some issue with the seals between the two pieces failing or something.

Lots of MUAs do this. Clean the breather and put in new oil.
