Getting the Wheeling Fever
I've got a question or two, for those of you that have CB's in your sports.. How do you have them mounted in there. I was trying to figure out a place to mount mine but theres not a whole lot of places to mount one. Also how to you have yours wired up for power. I was looking under the hood to find some way to run the power wires to the battery but I can't find anywhere to route the wires.

Tnx for any help

I haven't got a CB but I've seen them mounted on the roof, just above the rear view mirror in other vehicles. Might be an option if there's no room near your feet, you just have to find some place where there's re-inforcing steel to screw into, otherwise the screws will stick out the top of the roof. Then you can run power cables and antenna up through the A-pillar.Makes the microphone easy to find.

Hell why not just mount it on your dashboard?

That's what I would do... it would cover the big crack in the dash

By the way... mine's a 1996 and the dash was perfect until I started going to my parents' summer home in the mountains where the temps get below freezing... First time I visited them it cracked Musta been from the thermal contraction and expansion.

dash material is too soft, tried that, the screwws went in but just pulled right out. i'm sure velcro would work, did that with my CD player for a while, but then you get that sticky crap everywhere on hot days.

One note the cover under the steering, on the back end its metal ( lether then the foam then metal) so you can have there a secure fix...

unfortunataly, That's where the knee air bag is located in my 2002 Sportie.
Since I roll in a 2 door Sportie, CB and antenna placement was simple. CB is mounted overhead between the seats using the exsisting headliner push plugs holes. antenna is mounted to my Yakima roof rack. 18 foot of antenna lead and 12v wiring is all tucked behind plastic side pannels. the wiring is feed through the driver's door sill(where I also hide the fuse). There is a couple of small holes in the firewall behind the fuse panel, good spot to feed your 12v wire. bought a rubber grommet to keep wire from rubbing the firewall steel at the hole. then it's all directy tapped to battery. and since everyone can hear the CB from it's central location, i didn't have to mount an external speaker.
