Older Honda intake tracts were a joke... That is one car were the stock box is actually restrictive. But on a jeep? nope. I think your numbers are way off. If the manufacturer makes 100000 intake boxes with a 2" larger hole on production, it would cost close to 0$. New cars these days have resonance boxes/mufflers in the intake tract, and have more than enough flow.

thanks for the info - sounds like it is the iac, i cleaned the tb sometime ago - maybe i messed up the iac sensor. no k&n filter here.
