I have a T100 that has been awesome. I've recently been burned by a dealership trying to trade her in, so I decided to keep it and do some repairs.
It's a 1995 Longbed T100, 2WD 2.7L (dont think they made the LWB with the V6), 117k mi. Just bought a new radiator for it, and have almost replaced all the banged-up body panels.
My question is this... I'm considering getting slightly larger tires on it and maybe like a 1.5" or 2" lift. I have a totally stock setup I believe, 225/70/R15, and was considering going bigger. I'll probably be using it in the woods from now on. How will the 4 banger handle the larger tires, and how large would be large enough to provide a nice smooth ride yet not overload the 2.7L? It's also the dreaded automatic... not alot going my way for power lol.
Also, are there any cheap ways to get more power out of the 2.7L? Just a few added horsepower would go a long way in this case. Dont know if there are performance chips, etc. that you guys could recommend. I'm pretty much a total amatuer, but I love my truck.

My T runs just fine with 31" tires. I had an open element filter on it for a while and although it definitely sucked more air (it was definitely SUCKING!!), I felt that was negated by the high air temps under the hood. I put the stock air box back on, removed the restrictive elbow from the fender and use a drop in K&N panel filter. I feel it runs very well on the highway for a 4 popper and I still get around 22 mpg. Not bad but hey...my "other" truck only averages 15 mpg if that. hth

the 2.7 is a strong motor...same hp as the 3L V6... Header would give you some extra power at the low end for getting the bigger tires rolling.

93-94 T100's have the the 3.0L V6 with the 8ft bed, and in 95 you could get the 3.4L V6 with 8ft bed. 96+ only had the 3.4L in the extended cab models. I have a 4cyl too and the OEM tire size is 215/75/R15. There was an optional 235/75/R15 from toyota, and others on here have said the 215 and 235 use the same rims, so I think eventually I will go to 235's so that I can load a little more weight in the bed (215's don't like it when I have a cubic yard of sand in the bed). I also have a 95 4cyl 2wd long bed, but I have the w56 5-speed

Not to dig up a dead thread... Alpine makes a supercharger fer the 2.7...although it's not cheap. Not many options fer my 1993 3.0 though... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

My '93 'T has an 8' bed and a 3.0V6. They are kind of a dog performance wise, though they seem to make a lot of torque. I've owned mine since '95 and have used it for hauling a variety of toys. Occasionally (before I bought a Dodge truck) I used my 'T for hauling my quad and tent trailer to and from the desert and while it never was fast with all that weight it was able to hold highway speeds (and even pass if it was well-planned).
Until a year ago I had 31" tires, now I have 29" Goodyear A/T (we don't drive it off-road much any more so I couldn't justify going with another set of BFG's).
Trade-in value on these trucks (at least on the earlier models) doesn't seem to be real high, though every few months I get notes left on mine asking if it's for sale, so if you want to sell you might be better off trying to sell it private party.
