I'm having a problem with my 95 Montero 3.0L. I just replaced my auto tranny with a used one and that seem to help but not much. When i start the car i have to press the gas in to get it going and once it starts it idles fine. when i put it into gear it sputters and has a weak take off. when i drive it down the road it shifts ok if i feather the gas. but at wot it falls flat. Things i replaced but still running the same. I changed the crank sensor, cam sensor and new timing belt. I also checked the timing twice that means i took of the front cover twice to find that it still runs the same.
thanks for any help and sorry for the long story lee

When did all this start? Could bad gas be a issue? When was the last tune up?

hey thanks for the reply just wanting to let everone know that my problem was fixed by just replacing the spark plugs and wires. i never changed the wires do to the cost but it is possible to use accel universal #4040 wires(only $30) and is 8mm instead of 7mm for a stornger spark.
thanks lee

My truck runs best on OEM wires and plugs. Stronger spark is not the issue, avoid all those fancy spark plugs and wires. If you can't get OEM then get what's cheap
Glad the problem was solved.
