Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
Hi I have a 87' 4X4 Pickup and just recently drove it for the first time today. (Been working to make it drivable for the last month or two) Anyway when driving i noticed a very loud whine or grrrr noise, but this only happens when the clutch is let out. If you are simply sitting with the clutch pushed in then the noise is gone. I was thinking it was either the transfer case or a bearing in the transfer case, or a bearing in the transmission. It shifts just fine so its not the transmission itself. Any idea as to what it would be? Thanks for the replys a bunch!

Wouldn't the throw out bearing make the noise while the pedal is pushed in too? try putting the transfer case in neutral and see if the noise goes away. Jeff
