Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have a stock 2000 4Runner 4WD with OEM tire 225/75/R15 (15" steel wheel). I'd like to upgrade to 265/70/R16 tire with 16" alloy wheel. Based on you guys' input from Tire & Wheel FAQ, this should work without doing anything, e.g. lifting.

Any advice on where to buy high quality 16" alloy wheels to fit my runner? I'd like to try stealer first to see how much OEM wheels cost. If it costs more than I can afford I'll try Discount Tire to get some aftermarket ones.

Do you guys recommend Tirerack.com?

Thanks

I got my 15" aluminum wheels at Discount Tire....couldn;t beat the price anywhere....not even mail order (and that's without the shipping).

Where are you located? I might be interested in your stock rims later on. (Note my location)

You shouldn't have any trouble with the size you're going to.

Unfortunately I live in North Carolina. I do not know how much shipping cost will be. Anyway I will no longer need the a set of four 15" wheels with four Michellin Cross Terran tires (currently only 48K, still 15-25k life left). Also a nearly new Dunlop GrandTrek spare tire with rim (100 miles so far) shall be out.

I PM'd you, but the 1999-2000 5-spoke Limited wheels are my favorite. I would look for those. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I have my stock 16's off of my 1999 SR5 that im not using anymore... THey are at home in Baltimore, but i live at school down in Blacksburg, VA. If your interested in them make me an offer! They had about 55,000 miles on them when i took them off but they are in pretty good shape with very few little imperfections as far as i remember but you can look at them before buying!

Need a Spot
I just got some 16x8" American Racing Outlaw II's for my '88 at Discount Tire. Good deal.

I've also ordered from The Tire Rack quite a few times. I've always had good deals and success with the Rack's quality, prices and shipping.
