Getting the Wheeling Fever
ok, my drivers side door won't unlock. the lock where you put the key in has fallen down inside. as a result i can't pull the unlock button up in the inside of the door. any ideas on how to get this door unlocked so that i can tear the inside panel off so i can see what the problem is. this is the drivers door so i need to get it unlocked asap so i don't hurt myself trying to climb in the passenger door.

thanks,
jeff

It will be tough to pull the inner doorskin with the door shut. Try jiggling the lock handle repeatedly to see if you can free it, otherwise, you may have to force the door panel off to gain access. Pull the inner arm rest, the door latching mechanism, and window crank, and then try to work the doorskin up and in from the bottom (there may be screws or just snap-clips, depending on your trim) -- there's a lip on the top where the window meets the door, and you have to pull the bottom up and rotate while lifting.

Just visualize Bo and Luke Duke as you slide through the window! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />
