Does anyone know the BEST way to get rid of rust on things like , frame,a-arms, axels, and other areas underneath? ill post some pics tommarow so you can see what i mean but i really hate rust and im ready to wage war on it i just need to get ammo lol <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" />

I just ordered some Rust Bullet. I've heard good things about it so I thought I'd give it a try. You don't have to prep the surface as much with rust bullet compared to POR-15. http://www.rustbullet.com/

For anything that can be submerged (like A-arms if you want to remove them):
Submerge in a saturated solution of washing soda (not baking soda <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ). Get a 12v battery charger, attach negative lead to part to be cleaned, attach positive lead to a piece of scrap metal (also submerged). Don't let 'em touch. Run at low setting overnight. This works wonders, you may have to turn the piece occassionally - a direct line of sight between the scrap and rust works best. I've used it on brake drums, skid plates, etc.

Caveat if you use this on aluminum (if you have rusty steel attached to aluminum, door handles for example): it will bubble the paint off the aluminum, ok if you repaint anyway.

You'd need to dig a big hole to submerge your frame! Know anyone with a swimming pool they're not using?

For other stuff:
To neutralize the rust, use phosphoric acid (Ospho is a spray, or something like naval jelly). If it's really bad you'll need to wire brush, spray, repeat, etc.

I've never tried POR, I'm too cheap. It's supposed to work nicely though.
