Well since I've put the zuk coils in, and am having eb build me up a set of o/s valve heads for my 3.0 slow, I'm thinking I'm committed to doing mods to my rig, and I might as well put a locker in. With snow on the roads a goodly part of the year, it has to be a manually activated locker, so that means either ARB or the toy e-locker from a taco. I'm partial to keeping my toy mostly a toy, so I'm partial to going with an e-locker.

The question in, where is a good source of used ones at a reasonable price? I've been checking the junkyards up here without success, so any other suggestions on who might have one?

'94 extra-cab 3.0 extra slo (auto tranny) original owner. E/B o/s valve heads and no more crossover. More mods to come.

It's probably one of those items that if you're not looking for it, they are avaialbe, but if you are looking for one, you can't find it.

The other reason I've been thinking about the e-locker is if I find one with the right gear ratio, it's not alot of work. If I go with an ARB, and have to set up gears, I might as well re-gear for bigger tires. Just don't want to go that far right now.

I guess the other question is are there any on line sources that have the complete part inventory and 1/2 decent prices? Don't know that I want to pay full $tealership for a new diff, but might consider it.

I buy any new OEM stuff from these guys.
http://www.1sttoyotaparts.com/
They are located in Washington so its 1 day shipping to oregon and thats using the cheap shipping option. They are probably the closest to Alaska as well. Im not sure if your totally set on an E locker or not but I put TruTracs in both diffs on my Daily driver and Im pretty happy with them.

If your looking for a brand new E locker...
CARRIER ASSY, 4-Runner, 6 Cylinder, 4WD, w/Locking Differential 96-00
list is $1,190.40
At the place listed above its $857.09
Last I checked you could get it down to 4.88 as a factory item for that cost. When you think about new Gears,Bearing and the locker all factory assembled for $857 its a darn good deal.

My rear v6 Tru Trac was $350ish If I remember.

90 Xcab V6
3.0 Rebuilt/Balanced
P/P w/OS valves
Downey Hdrs,Jacobs Ign
5.29's,Tru Trac+Lockright
4"TG SAS+Rear Kit on 35's
(DOA Racing = $1200 lesson <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />)

I agree that buying new is a good deal, but the lowest factory ratio I have ever been able to find with an e-locker is 4.56. Inchworm has good prices if you want to buy a new, geared e-locker. Otherwise try www.car-part.com.
