Need a Spot
I finally decided on a rig. Hence, the reason I am posting in the Jeep section.

My next rig is a 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer with 149,253 miles on it. I pick it up later this week, and literally can't wait until I do. All I know about these Jeeps is that they are unibodies, and that they are pretty good out on the trails. Can somebody let me into problems I may or may not face later on? I can already tell that the valve cover gasket will be changed very soon, and that I must fix the spare tire rack, but other then that, it is in immaculate condition, and runs so well, I plan on driving it down to Arizona later this summer to visit my Grandpa, who has a Jeep Grand Cherokee (I beleive it is a 94 or 96, but I am not positive about that.) Thanks in advance.

From all I understand the grand wagoneer's are frame and body cars. Do you mean a cherokee?? Either way, they are both great jeeps.

The grand wagoneer is a full sized frame and body jeep.
The Cherokee is a unibody jeep, very common on the road today.

Do you have a pic?

No, I mean a Grand Wagoneer. I had thought that the Grand Wagoneers were just Cherokees with power everthing and a different grill design, but I guess I was wrong.

I will not have a picture until later this week, which will be as soon as I get it home. It is a great rig, and will be perfect for all the stuff I am going to do. I'll eventually do some mods to better make it a Wheeler, though not a ton, since it will be mainly a Daily Driver until I get another car in the future. This is my second SUV, and I just can't wait until I can go pick it up (have to fix my truck so I can trade it in on it).

Does it have leaf springs or coil springs in the front?

Hey, sorry guys, I figured out the difference the day I got it. I had thought that it said Grand Wagoneer on the side of the Jeep, but there was also a Grand Cherokee there, which probably got me all confused.

Here it is:

It is an XJ, obviously.

It needs some work. The pulley for the AC is giving me some problems at the moment, but not enough to worry about too much. I would like to get it fixed soon though, because it is starting to get hot outside, and with the windows open, it is still like an oven with the pleather seats in it.

Nice looking Waggy you got there, I'm thinking of transplating that style front end on my MJ since the front end is messed up anyway smile. Good luck with the AC, I know hot we hit 108 yesterday!
