But everythinkg else will work, interior lights etc. Put a new starter on, thought thats was the fix, nope it did it again the other night. What should i be looking at or testing? Thanks for the Help!!!

Check the battery cables too, especially the grounds. There should be a ground from the battery to the fender, body to frame by the pass. side motor mount, frame to block, and head to firewall. I like to replace the battery ground with a double wire cable, the thick cable I run to the block and with the smaller one, I attach it to the fender. The positive cable should be checked also, it carries the main current to the starter and the smaller wires power the accessories. Another problem that shows up is with the ignition switch itself, it carries all the current to the starter and the contacts can become burned. I added a relay to my starting circuit which only used the ign. switch power to turn the relay on and the relay would then supply battery power directly to the starter. No more problems at all after that.
Good luck
Jeff S.

Is it a manual or auto tranny? I'd start with the simplest possibilities first.

If it's a manual you should hear a clicking of the relay behind the passenger kick panel when you turn the key to start. If you're not hearing this check that the interlock switch on the clutch is working. Once in a while my floor mat gets under the clutch pedal and can prevent the switch from being activated. You can also check this by pressing the override button to the left of the steering wheel (truck in neutral ).

On the auto tranny I think there will be a switch that activated by the gear selector that will only let the truck start in park or neutral. That's where I'd start if you have an AT.

Aside from the other good suggestions, is there any aftermarket gear on there that might need inspecting?

Don't break up with her if'n you like her-- show her how to work on her stuff!!!

With those symptoms on an AT, I'd start with the neutral saftey switch. When it won't start, try shifting into another gear & back to park (or neutral) if it'll let you. If it won't let you, just jiggle the shift lever a bit & try again.
If that doesn't work, you'll need to find the switch (sorry, I keep my distance from auto trannys) & test (or adjust in some cases) it.

x 2 on the linkage; it has to be adjusted. Pretty much the same if you want to use one of the FSM's posted here to check it out; otherwise PM abnormaltoy for his 88 FSM.
