Can anybody tell me the difference between the 4.3 W, X and Z engines?

The 4.3 Z is the TBI style engine.
The 4.3 X and W are the ôVortecö style (multi port/ sequential fuel injection) engine. The W is rated at 10 more hp and 10 more lb ft of torque than the X engine. The difference comes from a different camshaft and programming.

It's kind of gone back and forth over the years. The W started out as a CPI engine, where all cylinders were fueled at once and has since been morphed into an sfi system. The X motors that I've seen lately are more powerful than the last batch of W's, and lack EGR. I'd have to look up the Z motor. The last Z motor I've seen is a 5.3l v-8.
