Getting the Wheeling Fever
update: <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />
spun the crank with a wrench to check for all the cylinders moving and #1 clyinder did not move at all. then i tried to get it to move with a rubber mallet... nothin it is wedged in there good from the valve splitin it. so from all this i believe the rod broke, brakin the first valve, and the crank hit it a few more times explaining the rest.

if the springs, valve retainers and timing chain are all good then wouldnt that mean the rod broke, let the piston go and smash an open valve or two?

"inspection holes" <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" /> in the cyl block?

yea thats kinda what i was tryin to say, yes #1 rod is broken somwhere letin it go free to smash the valves. i saw no holes in the block and from sound i think it might have broken off around the rod bearing/cap leavnin the rod still attached to the piston beacause as the crank turns it only makes a slight tap sound vs. a scraping as if the rod was still moving with crank. as soon as i have time i will pull it apart and post some more pictures.
