I am going to be doing a SAS and I have 35" s. The rodeo will still be street legal but I will not be taking any long trips in it and I think it will spend most of its time off road. Are 5.38 the right ratio for me? I want some power back and to help when wheeling but still be able to travel at highway speeds if I need to although not very often.

Body Damage is Cool
You will love the 5.38s. I currently run them with 35s. My mileage went up when I switched to 5.38s and 35s from 4.56s and 33s.

Power is great and I can still do 80mph if I have to. I normally keep my cruising at 70 or less. It is nice to be able to accelerate on the freeway again!!

edit > You will still be very comfortable with 37 or 38 inchers too.

Need a Spot
I agree. I'm also running them with 35's. After fininshing my SAS (well, it's almost finished), I drove on the 35's with the stock gearing for about a month or so. Not only did it have no get-up, but I was only getting about 8 mpg. After switching to the 5.38s, I get about 12-13 mpg, and I drive approx. 10-15 miles of interstate a day. It's nice to be able to hit speed limit by the time I merge onto the interstate again. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
