Need a Spot
I bought my Jeep from a used car lot that my dad has bought his F-150, and his first gen Bronco from, and they were apparently giving me a good deal on this vehicle. I figured that $1,999 was a little high, but if I paid it off in a certain time frame, they were going to refund some of it back because of the fact that my dad has bought some cars from them. Today was my first payment, and I could only make a $100 payment because I only got a weeks worth of a paycheck (just started this job). However, when I recieved the reciept, it indicated that I nowhave a balance of $2,006.39 that must be payed before December. First of all, my original papers clearly state that it is $1,999, and it has my signature on it as well. The salesman, however, did not sign any papers, but made me sign more then I thought necessary. I read over every one carefully, and none of them said I would be paying more then what I had originally budgeted for. I am going to go down there tomorrow with my dad and ask them what they are trying to pull. I do not want to get screwed, considering this is my first car that I am buying from a lot. Does it sound like they are trying to screw me over? I really don't want to have to take back my other vehicle that I used as a trade in, because I do like the Jeep, but if it comes down to that, I will return it and shop elsewhere. Let me know what you guys think.

Sounds like you're looking at your interest rate. Go over your paperwork with your Dad first and see if you've missed anything.

Ah grasshoppa-- got to learn to be cool when dealing with people on some things; this is one of them.

Well Im thinking it is something other than intrest...its only 7 dollars Im thinking of maybe a filing fee or registration fee or plain paperwork fee....Also seeing how you only made a partial payment (or thats what I gathered due to the ONLY in your statement) there may be a late fee assesed for the remaining...

i agree with kewlynx, since you was unable to make the full first payment the price went up a little.Just calm down breath deep and relax. You can actually screw them over they like it when you take the full time to make payments.that means more intrest.BUT if you can afford to make a little more of a payment(ex 200 instead of 150) the time is shortened and the intrest is lower.when i got the loan for my jeep for 2k(the jeep was only 1200 but borrowed more to help my credit) i had it paid off on less than 6 months.Granted that was due to me getting married and more of my money could go to that but nonetheless it can be done. it also helps because if your a little short one month but paid more the month before your still in good shape.

out of all the jeeps in this town the d**n gremlin had to invade mine

I've done so much, with so little for so long i can practicly do anything with nothing

$7 is not worth the gas to drive down for. and 2k is not bad for a jeep, but car lot will screw you and there is nothing you can do, You sign the papers. partial payment, they can repo the car and make you pay off the loan. The will sell the repo jeep to a buddy for 10 dollars and you are still legally binding for the other $1990, so keep the jeep and pay off as fast as possible, go get a bank loan to pay them off. and also change the iginition switch to another key. they have a copy of your key. used car dealer are crook and dont show your azz they will repo it. be nice, play nice and dont give them any reason. double your payments if you can.
