Getting the Wheeling Fever
So I just got my exhaust done on my 1987 Toyota Pickup with the 22R, and i got a better flowing Air, should I re-jet the carburetor to allow it to give a better mixture and if so what jet size does one normally use? I've done it on my banshee, but that was a little easier then this, hehe. Dont wanna put the wrong jet in and cause things to go haywire, if ya know what i mean.

*Wonders if he asked a stupid question* hehe.

So is my thought in the wrong area that you dont need to re-jet the carburetor? Or do most people not even do it? I have looked a bit online and dont recall seeing people do it, but most probably get a performance intake, a better carburetor and so on, I unfortunately did not want to go to those extreme's. I looked today at a intake and new carburetor and it appears to run close to 500 or more appox depending on the type you bought, crome or none crome, and so on. If anything i'll experiment and do what i did on my banshee and go with a larger one and play with it till i find a happy medium <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />

You really won't notice anything. Best just to drop the cash and buy a weber.

I'm not saying that you can't get anything out of rejetting but its more work than its worth.

you can replace the primary jet on a toy carb with a weber jet, i'm not sure where the typical stock jets compare to weber ones number-wise.

the secondary main on my toy carb(at least the one i used to run) has some funky vacuum/mechanical secondary setup with a metering rod and doesn't really look adjustable. from what i could make of it, the throttle plate linkage is still fully mechanical, but there is a choke flap that seems like it responds to vacuum that lets the metering rod move out of the secondary jet and thus let more fuel in.
