After installing a lift on a YJ, the rear lower shock mount puts the shock right up against the axle housing. Has anyone ever concidered using front spring plates and re-locating the shock to the stud that would have been used for the front swaybar link? This would put the bottom of the shock about an inch forward, away from the axle and a little higher to create more clearance. ![[Linked Image]](http://fresnodb.com/pics/jeep/shockmount.jpg)

If the upper and lower mount aren't within about 1/8" you will bend shocks. I think the spring plate might offset it too far.

I have the same exact problem with mine, broke off on same spot and everything rear right shock.... had it welded 2 times and still broke off. What your going to have to do is take the entire braket off and weld a new one to the axel, after having mine done 2 times Ive learned that much ... Please let me know where you get the bracket if you find one, because its a welded part its going to have to be new... please let me knwo when you find it where you got it cause ive been looking for one.

Got mine from discount jeep parts on line. I talked to a fabricator and he said he has welded quite a few on jeeps and he recommends fabricating a gusset to strengthen the mount. I believe acme also sells weld ons.
