I recently bought a '02 Sportage and when I went to check out some 4 wheelin I found the stock front bumper to stick out way to far. Damage done. Is there a different solid bumper that will mount on? Something that is flush with the front grill?

What I used to do (i run naked all the time now) is remove the front bumper whenever I would go 4x4ing. it's only 4 nuts, all in easy reach. takes less than 10 minutes to remove. Some of the guys on here hacksaw just off the air dam.

yeah, you can trim it, you can remove it, or you can put some bigger tires and a little lift on it and get it off the ground. there are a few bumpers available out there, but they are pretty much the same size as the stock one.

Thats what I was thinking. Do you know where to order different off road upgrade parts for the sportage?

i dont offroad so much, but i do beat the poop out of mine in bad weather responding to fire calls. i found that a 2" bodykit and relocating the bumper up works fine (but then again i bent mine coming from a 2ft jump ) i would say since you offroad a 4" suspention lift and 31's would do you good.

31's rub the lower corners on the bumper. that's why I run naked all the time now.

Body Damage is Cool
No they don't! I've been running 31's for a couple of years now and I've only got the 1 3/8" body lift and the 2" spring lift from Eibach. I have relocated my bumber up to match the body lift and I'm still running the stock rims just to keep the tires inside the wheel wells.
