Getting the Wheeling Fever
i just finished installing a powertrax no-slip locker in the rear and tested it. i didnt have to remove the brake line to pull the shafts far enough for the 3rd member to come off.

the tires seem to be getting dragged when turning. is this normal? do tires wear out faster if you have a locker?

With mine I found that I had to learn to glide into turns, foot off gas while turning, apply power once wheels were straightened out. Off pavement I drive any which way I want!

I broke in for ~3K with conventional lube, drained and refilled with Mobil 1 75W90. Seemed quieter and smoother after the refill.

P.S. Be careful on wet or slippery pavement, you can kick out the rear end sideways when stepping on the gas! I almost took out a toll booth on the OH turnpike with some wet slush on the ground last Xmas.

Coasting in turns the tires shouldn't scrub, but when you apply power it will lock and then act like a spool.

...500 miles now, i dont hear any clicking anymore. ive taught myself to coast on turns to minimize tire scrubbing on road.

i shouldve put this on sooner. it works like wonder off road. ..works well in sand too

I got my no slip from rocky-road.com for under $400, if you're thinking of getting the lunch box instead. Im not sure if they have a lockrite for the rear, but they do have one for the front for under $300

Inspired by KC's pics (Creeper), I ventured out for a solo trip...went to see the canyons for the first time and explored the area as much as I can in little time. 6 days - 3000 miles.
Got few big pics and a cheesy video (Hell's Revenge, Moab) to share http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qa8hyIkuUb0

See new thread for pics:
