Im heading to the junk yard today to look for a carb for the monty.. Quick Question, Are there any other cars/trucks/suv that use the same muniki carb? They only have an 89 raider and 89 montero so probebility (sp?) is they will be v6's so just wondering before i made the trip. Thanks!

To my knowledge they offered the I4 and V6 for the 1989 models (almost bought an I4 89 off a guy in new york). But most I have seen are V6's, but you never know. The Mightmax, D50, and a few others also had the 2.6L with the Minuki (sp?).

I have a working Mikuni Carb listed for sale on 4x4 wire. Its from a 1988 Monty. Other items listed as well.

Pricing is negotiable on the carb and other parts. Make an offer. As far as I know, '88 was the last year for a carb.

A junkyard carb would be my last resort. Those old dried out junkers are only good for the core. You might get lucky but I doubt it. I would save for a rebuilt.

The '89 with the I4 was the last year of the carb in the Montero.

And I agree with Les. I wouldn't use a junkyard carb for anything other than rebuilding or as a core.
