20R fuel injection?? anyone seen it???

22R bottom end, 20R head....... guy wants fuel injection. can it be done at a reasonable cost?

Mike, It all depends on how much machine work the head/manifold or both will need to match the ports. The 20R intake is different than the 22R. If you can find a system similar to the Holley Projection, it would make it alot easier to adapt. Jeff

You can adapt the 20r intake to take a holley 2bbl carb. You can adapt a holley 2bbl carb to Chevy TBI. I've used megasquirt to control TBI.. Basically did this on an early 22r motor. TBI is vastly superior to a carb, but really not as good as true port injection.
Other alternative would be to build a manifold for the 20r head.. Not as horribly difficult as you might think, but you need to be able to weld and do fabrication.

So I can use a standard intake manifold and then mega-squirt as fuel injection? I thought you needed the volume of the plenum to get a correct mixture? Anyhow...Ive scanned the mega squirt website and Im confused about what needs to be purchased? suggestions?
Holly projection is out as even used ones cost $1000.
