Getting the Wheeling Fever

Hello everyone at the board my name is Damon and I have read alot here at the board but I need some help now. I have a 1987 Toyota ext cab longbed two wheel drive truck with the 22R carbed engine and automatic trans. First problem is that the overdrive always disengages while driving at highway speed. I have to reengage the overdrive button on the shifter. I always know when its going to disengage because I hear a clicking sound form somewhere. It must be a relay but I cant find it. Anyone know where the overdrive relay is located?
Second issue is my wife was involved in an accident that was not her fault and I need some parts which I cant find. Parts needed are plastic parts for the right side fender which mounts the side clearance light between the fender and grill and mounding hardware for the grill also I think.
Next parts needed are for the right hand headlamp. I have a new bucket and trim ring for the headlight but I need adjusters and the four plastic pieces that the headlamp rest against which are affixed to the header panel. This truck has 285000 and im not getting rid of it for nothing. I had to fight the insurance company. Everyone knows the insurance company thinks an almost 20 yearold vehicle id usless but their wrong and I proved that/ Thanks in advance.
Damon

I'm not seeing a relay, but the ecu for the electronic controlled transmission is supposed to be under the center console.

Where in Texas are you? There are some pretty good import wrecking yards, but we'd need to know where you are in order to send you to the closest one.

Sorry about not telling my location I have brain fade from too many twelve hour days at work. I live in Paris Tx which is about a hundred miles north of Dallas Tx. I have a new right fender with side marker light and am ready to start the repair on my truck. It wont take long to fix I hope. But with our busy season on top of us at work I feel alot of twelve hour days coming. Thanks in advance for everyones help. 73's to you all.

Davepet my truck does not have a center console. It is two wheel drive with column shift and bench seat with a flip down arm resr. What I always hear right before the overdrive disengages is a clicking noise like a relay that is loosing its power. I wish I could find a place on the web with an online wiring diagram. If anyone has one they can email me at ke5hbd@yahoo.com. ke5hbd is my amature ham radio call sign. Again thanks for everything.

Interesting, all I have to go on is the downloads I saved from my (now expired) Mitchell 87 shop manual subscription. Somehow I missed downloading the wireing diagram page that shows the ECT wireing. Here's a copy of the ect control unit location diagram that I have: http://img222.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hoodtransclusternt4.gifSorry I don't have more info... Dave

There's a guy parting out an 87 in the F/S section here. 84-88 body parts will work for you. www.car-part.com is another junkyard source. BTW, you can update your location in your profile via the 'my home' link above. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the wiring diagram Dave. Have not drove the truck in some time as I was injured at work almost a month ago and am down to one working hand at this time. Hard to type with one hand. I did notice in your wiring diagram that it had a floor shift. My truck has the column shift and my truck is carburated 2wd and non sr5. I would say the wiring relays would be in the same place. Thanks for the replie Dave and other repliers.
