31x10.50x15's are the biggest I would go with out a lift and they wont rub. with a 3 inch lift you can runa 33", AND no your Tranny IS NOT GOING TO BLOW!!! I have an Auto and a Standard, never had a Problem them at all. Are you running the stock steel wheels or the "SnowFlake" OEM Aluminums?? With my Experiance with the stock wheels, Running a 31" tall tire its no good for the wear and it feels like the handeling off and on road is "tipsey", not saying It will roll over, but thats the feeling I get. I just Bought some after market 15x8 Eagle 058's that will help with the feeling I get Offroad plus make the tires wear better. AND of course Make it Look better.

I meant 3" suspension Lift, With that YOU CAN run a 33" other than that a 31 will fit and you can get them for about 80 to 125 $$ and they go up from there.

33x10.5r-15s fit with no lift. I have had the tires mounted on 3 diffent sets of rims:

1. Stock alloy 15x6 rims looked a little narrow, minor rubbing of the inner fender at full lock.

2. Steel 15x8 fit great no complaints. Pictured below.

3. Alloy 15x7 About the same as the 8"s, but lighter weight helps somewhat in gitty up performance department.

I did crank the torsion bars a little and weld up some shackles. But the lift is not relevant, bumps stops are stock.

On the other hand 195/50r-15s fit with a 3" BL and 3" suspension lift.

Only minor rubbing / dragging in my driveway <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

I run 35" s with the stock tranny and some troopers came stock with 31's all you "have" to do to lift is buy longer shackles which you csn get cheap ones for $20 and crank the torsion bars that will give you 2" lift

The Troopers came stock with 31-10.50/15's if you had
the big tire and wheel package.
They also had 4.77 gears instead of the 4.56's that come
with the smaller tire package. There was no difference
in the transmissions between the big tire and wheel package trucks and the ones without the package.

OMG, You fit them with no lift other than your torsions...... WTH I tried them on 15x8's that I had, they rubbed BADDD with torsions CRANKED, WOW. wonder what difference was??? oh well. Luckly I was able to get that Tire Package on mine and got the lower gearing. BTW, HAHAHA nice pics man, HAHAHA low rider. HAHAHA still giggling.

33x10.5r-15s fit with no lift.

The key thing is 33x10.5r-15 Narrow fits easy

I also did put my 33x12.5r-15s on the RS for a couple weeks. Because it was hot 100* and I didn't feel like using my HF manual tire changer right then. I did have some minor rubbing at full lock and they might have rubbed if flexed, didn't try it, I was too busy with work and getting ready for CoZu.

The extra weight difference between 10.5" tires on alloy wheels and 12.5" tires on steel is something to consider. Heavy will make you want better shocks and more power. I don't really notice the heavier 12.5" rubber on steel wheels in my 3.4v6 Trooper. But I really noticed the difference on the 2.6 4 cyl RS Trooper
