Sweet! After a little playing around at Tellico this weekend (it was an impromptu trip, sorry I didn't post an invite) I believe an SAS is a must. Let me reiterate what many have already said, IFS sucks.

I think the Muncie SM420 tranny is the best one to use in a 4x4. But thats just my opinion. That 1st gear in 4 lo is absolutly AWESOME.

The only problem I have with one IS....
My 700R4 is long, and I already have driveshafts cut for it. AND I like Overdrive. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Your right Landraider about the overdrive. It would be nice to have an extra gear. At 65 MPH I'm at 2700 RPM. But then again this is my toy not my daily driver and I built it for playing in the rocks. I used a high pinion Dana 44 from a 78 Ford F-150. The coils are strapped into the upper and lower buckets with metal straps. It's a stock Ford setup. I have Rancho RS5000 shocks and they have over 23 inches of travel so they never reach the end of their travel.
