Body Damage is Cool
I no longer have an air compressor at my disposal so my air tools have been without use for almost 7 months now

What can I do to keep them from freezing up and ruining $1000+ in merch? I can't really oil them since I can't spin them.. again.. no air.

help!

>>>*A few drops of 3 in 1 oil or some light penetrant in the air inlet, turn them so the air inlet is pointed up for a few minutes. Then wrap them in oiled cloth and store them.

Thanks for the reply :]

So that'll keep everything inside pretty fresh even though it's not getting used still?

As long as you kept them oiled before, and your air was fairly dry you should have no problems. Wet air is the big killer.

I had a Snap-On 1/4 inch air ratchet I bought back in 96. I got out of the biz for about 5 years and when I went back I hadn't even touched my air tools in that time. I still use that air ratchet today.

BTW, transmission fluid works too.

I'll give you a tip.
If your impact gun doesnt seem to be working up to snuff (wont hit full RPM/power).
Spray a shot of WD40 into it, that'll loosen it back after it's been stored. Works every time (as long as nothing is broken).
We've taken tools that sat outside all winter and fixed them with some WD40... stuff works great. But make sure to oil it after it fixes your problem, because it's not the best lubricant.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I hose mine down with WD40 and wrap them in plastic.
