Hi all a pleasure to see this site. I have a 99 chevy tracker, that was running fine, but now it makes a growly noise when let up off the gas pedal, I thought it might be a u joint but it does it while idling, not moving. I also think it might be a motor mount, but I revved it up and it doesn't jump, but sounds growly, I had a new clutch put in about 2 months ago, any suggestions on how to check the motor mounts? or any other idea's? thanks mucho

Try putting light pressure on the clutch pedal and see if the noise changes or goes away. If it does, it is your throwout bearing.

Ummm, assuming the clutch is properly adjusted, the throwout bearing isn't spinning when the clutch pedal is out, so it can't make noise.
The flywheel, input shaft bearing & input shaft are all spinning at the same speed, so any noise has to come from within the transmission.

If the noise only starts when the clutch is pressed *then* you are likely looking at at throwout bearing or input shaft bearing.
