Hey Guys___ Just curios if any of you Toyota (22r engine) guys are running Webber carburetors or just stock. Also what your experience (good or bad), with either carb.and what you recommend and why. You know things like ease of adjustments, rebuiltabilaty, running well, economy etc. Thanks in advance______ BAYRUNNER

I run the weber 38 with hedman header & msd ignition. The setup is simple to tune, jet and trouble free. However, the truck was set up that way when I bought it so all I had to do was tune & jet the weber (once I got it setup, I haven't had to touch it). I get 17mpg winter, 18 mpg summer and 16 mpg offroad, very consistently. For 99% of 4 wheeling I prefer gears over horsepower, so if I was spending the money I'd take gears and a locker over engine mod's anyday. Not to mention, keeping it smog legal which increases your available market area if you ever sell it. Just my 2c.

I haven't installed a weber personally, but I own one and know if you search you will find a lot of info. I searched and it eventually convinced me to make the purchase - i got a good condition used one for cheap.

im running a weber 38 on my 84 it runs great, the only problem i had was with the throtle linkage because my factory return sping wouldnt quite return it to the throttle stop. i have a spring on it now but im going to go to a yard and get some linkage that isnt bent to hell. as for the carb i bought, it works great right out of the box. i simply set the idle and drove off.

I'm running the webber 38 street lethal with LCE header, Jacobs ignition system, and i even got the jet kit for the carb. Right now its running stock jetting, but i havn't played with them yet since i opened up the exhaust with the header and 2.25" exhaust + flowmaster. Havn't had any problems smogging. I like the setup, it has been working well, and once i change the float level it won't load up going up hills anymore.. I'm gettin 19-21mpg on worn 32's and 5.29's in the diffs. hope this helps

I've used several 32/36 carbs and the 38mm. I think the 38mm is complete overkill unless you've done some port work. I noticed no performance difference (slight mileage difference) between the two on a 22r with a mild cam, MSD ignition, header, & full exhaust.

that's interesting about the 38mm. I use a 32/36 progressive, but hear from all 38mm users that it'll spin the wheels.

I have a 32/36 on my dad's truck and a 38mm on mine, world of difference in power. I love my 38mm.
