This should get you started:

http://www.off-road.com/isuzu/v6trooper.html

Plus, use this site's search feature on the Isuzu forums and you'll find lots of swap info.

What engine do you have in your Rodeo? If it's a GM 3.1, I'd have another suggestion for you which will require a whole lot less work.

Cheers..........ed

Are you looking for a 4.3 or a 3.4? One is vastly more easy to swap.

I have a 3.2l with a five speed in a 94 rodeo so I thought about a 3.8/4 but I have heard that they wouldnt bolt up.

Ok, you gotta clear up what exactly you are looking for.

So far you have mentioned:
4.3
3.8
and 3.4

If you have the 3.2, anything except the 3.2/3.5 block will require a drivetrain swap in order to work. Along with moving/making mounts, changing driveline lengths and all the associated wiring.

So...let's talk about this. What is is you are exactly trying to do? What experience do you have and what facilities/tools do you have. It is really easy to get in deep with an engine swap.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have been attending a automotive tech class for two years and have done several swaps from honda to corvettes to ford rangers. I know what I am getting into and have a pretty wide range of tools excessable to me. I have been working in a corrvette shop for two and a half years so I think I am ready for this swap. If I understand correctly that no engine will bolt up to my stock tanny because it is a five speed. This is what I have planned out so far I got a drive train out of an old one ton chevy that had a 400 small block a np465 and a rockwell transfer case. But found a 1991 s10 with a 4.3 that runs good and doesnt have a bit of trouble mechanically but the body is shot. One of my good friends owns and runs a junk yard so at the same time I found this s10 I found a fullsize chevy d44 with 4.10 gearing none the less so that is going under the rodeo also but I have already had the clutch rebuilt and I rebuilt the tranny in class so next is to rebuild the engine and then swap my completely new drive train in. If you are thinking why would you do this to a rodeo then I personally dont think you have an understanding of my love for my truck. But I was looking for some write ups for tips and tricks and thought you guys would be the best to ask. thanks again sam.

No big deal buddy, Mike was just trying to get some background, by no means was he questioning your intent or abilities. The background info is as much important when you ask for advice as the who what where and whys are. Anyways, I think you are on the right track by giving us some info about your situation but you might need to give even more info and specifics if you want specific help or advice. Like something to get the conversation started.

If you just want to look at pics and read buildups, I know if you search under "stinkbug" he has done a 4.3 swap with some pics a few years ago in his old Amigo. Or there are a ton of threads on pirate if you want to just read and look at pics for ideas. Good luck sounds like a cool project.

Put in the 400 sbc, a 4.3 swap is barely worth the effort <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
