Getting the Wheeling Fever
I would like to get some wheels for my T100. Since it is a 97 it has 16" wheels, stock steel. Is there any significant advantage for 16"? I'm thinking about putting 15" on it, since tires are a lot cheaper.

I liked the 15" wheels on my T100.
It made it easy to get Michelin LTX M/S LT tires.
I think they were 31x10.5x15 - and I got over 80k out of them.
I happen to have 3 new take-off 15" T100 steel wheels available...

My Tundra has 16" wheels and finding good truck tires took time and money.
I ended up with E rated tires on the Tundra.

Nope, no significant advantage to staying w/ 16's.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to hear. As stated, 16" have less selection in tires and they are more expensive. I will probably get some 15" wheels. I have 15" steelies off my 93, but I want some alloys.

I would rather have wider wheels that bigger wheels. 8" WIDE wheels are where its at as you can run up to 12.5 wide on them easy. It is possible on 7" wide wheels but not recommended.

Wheeler
I just bought my current T this past summer. I had the same dilemma about swapping to either 16" or 17" wheels at first. After some search, it was decided to just stick to 15" as prices are cheaper whether you get them new or used. I think if you have the money, the larger wheels do look a lot better, but the penalty is on the extra weight of them (not including the weight of the larger tires already). I ended up buying an used set of Centerline 15x10 locally from craigslist, and will be using 33" tires as soon as I can get it lifted.

By the way, if you are looking at new tires, I found a site that has some good prices. Please know that I've not use them, so I have not personal experience with them.

I have 15" wheels now, wish i had 16" since there are more backspacing options with them...ive got 3.75" spacing now, but id like to have 4.5" havent seen any 15" wheels with that much, but ive always got my eyes open, wish i went with 15x8 on my truck too, my wheels are exposed to the nasty lava rocks on the trails here in Idaho with my 15x10 (Mickey Thompson Classic II)
