No offense man but pulling 2200lbs didn't burn up your motor. I have a 258 in my 80 model j-10 the motor is a 77model. I run 36x13.50x15 tires and 3:54 gears and pulled 14000 lbs with my truck a few weeks ago my motor didn't blow. When you post up a problem and someone gives advice whether you plan to take it or not accept that it may help you.
