Drew, I'm pretty sure that Mitsu NA is not going to cover a recall on a JDM vehicle. I think we're on our own buddy. Its just a pitman arm, so not a huge deal to install. Just the shipping is gonna be killer from UK or Japan.

Steve, thanks immensely for going to bat for us! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> Even if we can't get the recall done for free, its good to know that we need to do it. Virtual cheers buddy! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Drew, have you received your sunroof parts yet?

This may be the dumbest Q ever.....

Pitman arm recall?

Shouldn't it be " Crank bolt pulley " recall? Or is this a recall I am not aware of?

Either way . THANKS.

Can you give me a name/ contact info etc for the email/ letter? I need to to forward this thread/ info to my mitsu dealer with a name who he can contact etc.

Don't give-up without a fight <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" /> Mitsu here in the UK are completing recall work imported Pajeros

I'm guessing here, but I would expect Mitsu to have used the pitman arm on the Pajero as the Monteros, Phil could you check on the CAP Japan system for the part nos??

And if you need any more help, just put your head out of the window and SHOUT real loud <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

Got your email Steve, Thanks. I emailed back.

Does anyone have the recall # and possible PDF version for the pitman arm recall? I faxed them the previous Crank bolt recall,

As suspected the dealership does not recognize the ***** VIN !

So, to get work done , looks like this is what we need in N. America for Gen2s. ( Or what I am arming myself with )

-Letters from Mitsu UK customer relations confirming recall
-PDF files and recall numbers for required recalls as it seems the dealer "can't" bring them up on his system.
- FWIW my original VIN
-Healthy dose of dealership relations.

Once I hear back from Steve and Mitsu UK regarding the crank recall I am goin IN !!!!! Wish me luck. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" />

( Phil, haven't received sunroof yet , will advise)

I replied to your email, directly to you.- Andrew
Nothing in the inbox?
Well, Just waiting to see if you hear back about the VIN/ Crank info from Mitsu UK.

It would have been nice if they stated the pitman recall # etc.

EDIT: Just emailed mitsu UK too.

Nothing in the 'inbox' at time of posting <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

So Mitsu' UK will have 2 emails for the same truck, but, from differing people !

That will sure confuse them <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" />

Finally got an answer from Mitsu on your crank bolt

Dear Mr Nichols

MITSUBISHI PAJERO - V234000179 - CRANKSHAFT PULLEY BOLT SERVICE CAMPAIGN

Thank you for your e-mail received on 25 October 2006.

Please accept my apologies for the incorrect information supplied in my
previous correspondence.

I have checked with our Technical department who have advised me that
the Crankshaft Pulley Bolt service campaign was completed in Japan in
September 2000 and therefore does not require service campaign to be
carried out.

I trust this is of assistance.

Yours sincerely
<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I'll forward the email when I get home tonight.

Did you get the sunroof parts?

SUCCESS !!!!!!!!!!!

Jerzboy you are a saviour !

Called 30 wrecking yards in the US...everyone had kept the glass but junked the car and sunroof crank piece. Found ONE place , who, after looking at my pics and dimensions, has stated they have the exact part out of a 87 Starion that has been on their lot for 10 years.

$100.

We'll see if it all works when it arrives.

-andrew <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" />

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have the same problem with my SWB sunroof.
Did the part from the Starion work? If so, I found one on Mitsubishiparts.com.
BTW, the weatherstrip for SWB sunroof I found on ebay.uk for 28GBP (roughly $60CAD). I asked if he could ship to Canada and yes he can for 5 GBP. The auction has ended now, but I could probably purchase direct.
I'm wondering if the Starion weather strip would work too. Would anyone have the part number for the weatherstrip so I can source?
Thanks!!

Ken

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Just a quick follow up on this thread.
I got the sunroof fixed on my Pajero SWB.
Bought a sunroof regulator from Ryo Odagiri at;
J Cruisers JDM Vehicles & Parts in BC (mail@jdmparts.ca)for $95.
He ordered it from Japan and I got it in a few weeks time.
Part number is MD78642.
Sunroof works like a charm now!!
Cheers!

Ken
