Need a Spot
Hey!

after solving a major problem, I stil have one.
From time to time(random), the coolant temp light come on for a couple of seconds than off...
The water is not boiling, the expansion tang is on level..so..have I worry about, or can be just an electrical problem. Can be not enough coolant in radiator?

Thx again.

Yes it can be not quite enough coolant in the system... HAVE YOU NOT LOOKED? Running it that low, if that is the problem, Is putting your head at risk for cracking and burning valves...
If the light comes on, EVER, you must know WHY it came on!!!

Jim,
the coolant level is good in the tank, but I can not check inside the radiator.I try to replace the temp sensor. The light is on for just a couple of sec, than off, again on(random). If the coolant is the problem, the light sould be on permanent. Right?
The coolant is not boiling, than in my opinion the sensor is bad.

Perhaps the signal from the sender turns the light OFF instead of vice versa?

Body Damage is Cool
If the light has a constant 12 volts on one side of it, and the sensor adds or removed a ground to the other side of the lamp to turn it on or off, the sensor is the most likely culprit. However, if the sensor is unplugged, that should give you a light that is constantly on or constantly off. If it randomly goes on and off, I'd really check out the wiring coming from the sensor. It's likely chaffed and shorting out intermittently.
