The plastic thingies are pretty much single-use items. I have such little luck with removal without breakage that I just buy a handful at the parts store and plan to break 'em.

I havent tried removing one of those yet. But I have had decent luck removing those plastic things with one of THESE on interior trim.

As Randii said, pick up some more of those plastic things also. If you manage not to break any then you have spares for when you do. If nothing else that tool should make it easier to break them

OK, a plastic thingy and rubber skirt update:
out of 4 --
1...successfully removed 1 intact,
1...broke 1 partially on the flat part and then worked skirt around it;
2...removed skirt by working them around the whole, intact and installed plastic thingy.

i'm overjoyed. hey, it's all this little crap that always seems to take the time and cause the frustration.

anyway -- also went to the parts store but didn't find anything that looked like it would work at all -- is there a particular part (name, number?) that has worked for you?

thanks

btw, is it listed in the catalog as 'plastic thingy' or 'plastic thing'?

Take the remains to a good parts store and show them to the counter guy - he'll get you a handful from a box, probably behind the counter.

i think i actually remember those...

actually there is one place left a good piece away that just might help

thanks all

When you show up, bring a boquet of pine tree mirror hangers.
Then you you start with a nice dinner. High octane.
Have a few like florescent shoplight's scattered around the room--very romantic.
Order a quality oil to drink; Mobile One is preferred.
Keep them quart bottles flowing--don't leave an empty one sitting there, swap it out.
Remember to keep looking into her headlights--not staring, just lingering, meaningful gazes. They love that.

If everything goes right.....yeah, I'll stop there because it could bad from here.

For those who have misunderstood me before.....it's a joke!
