Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have noticed that my transfercase is leaking where the front driveshaft bolts up. I did a little checking and and i think the seal is bad. I went to parts store seal was only $6, so I figure I have take off the little cover on back of T-case to replace the seal. My question is what will I expect to see once i remove the 4 bolts of the cover. I just wondering if there anything special I should need or know before I venture in. Thanks, Jayson.

You should have to pull the front yoke and replace the seal from that side, not from the inside of the case. It should press in from the outside of the case. The nut on the yoke is staked and on wicked tight, so be prepared.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Well, got it fixed this morning. I started by disconnecting the front driveshaft from the T-case, then drained the oil out. Next I removed the 4 bolts from the back of T-case to remove inspection plate. I unscrewed the outer nut from the shaft to pull it out to remove the seal. When I went to unscrew the nut it wasn't even tight, I think that is why it was leaking, the tapered part of the shaft was probably not making a good seal. The old seal looked fine, I went ahead and replaced it anyway. Jayson
